Freemason-linked monument sparks concern among residents in Bandar Tasik Senangin

RESIDENTS of Bandar Tasik Senangin, Lenggeng, have expressed unease over the erection of a monument believed to be associated with the Freemasons in their predominantly Malay and Muslim neighbourhood.

State Assemblyman for Lenggeng, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, revealed he received complaints about the monument, which stands on a plot of land within the residential area.

“Residents have voiced their concerns about the presence of the monument as it is situated in a community mostly composed of Malay Muslims. Although the structure is moderate in size, it is considered inappropriate for this location,” he said.

He also questioned the choice of site, noting there were many other areas more suitable for such a structure.

Following the complaints, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin has informed the Seremban City Council (MBS), which reportedly has issued a demolition notice for the monument.

“To date, we have yet to receive an explanation regarding the reason and purpose for erecting the monument in an area where 95 percent of the population is Malay,” he added. “I will seek further feedback from MBS about the status of this land.”

He urged the local community to remain calm and allow the authorities to take appropriate action. - October 23, 2025
