
A ship operated by the French shipping company CMA CGM has been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, injuring crew members, the Marseille-based company said on Wednesday.
Those injured were evacuated, it said, without providing further details on either the nationality of the injured or their condition.
The cargo ship San Antonio, sailing under the Maltese flag, was damaged in the attack on Tuesday, according to the company.
The shipping group did not provide additional details about the attack, which occurred as it was moving through the key waterway. It also gave no information on who was responsible for the attack.
After the start of the Iran war, Tehran largely blockaded shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for the global economy.
On Monday, the US launched an operation dubbed "Project Freedom" to ensure safe passage for ships through the waterway, but US President Donald Trump recently announced that he would suspend it "for a short time."
