On 25 July, the neighbourhood of Cheongdam welcomed a new kid by the name of Casa Loewe Seoul to the block. Situated in one of Seoul’s most vibrant districts—Gangnam—, Casa Loewe Seoul is a three-storied destination imagined and conceptualised by the brand’s creative director Jonathan Anderson. Casa Loewe is not an unfamiliar concept, given Anderson’s flair for the creative and whimsical, and the Spanish house’s long-time adoration for the arts. These flagship retail concepts often combine fashion, art and the home in one arena, encapsulating the magic of Loewe in a single space. And the Seoul edition of this is no different.
To celebrate the opening of the Casa Loewe in Seoul, Anderson hosted a glamorous private cocktail party with some of the label’s ambassadors and friends of the house. The esteemed guests were donned in playful Loewe creations, matching the eccentric and artistic interior of the newly unveiled building. From the outside, one may just perceive a green monolith, but every detail found in the space captures some of Loewe’s brand magic. The tiles that adorn the exterior of the building come from Spain, while majestic art sculptures find their home within the space. Handpicked by Anderson himself, the crown jewel of the art within Casa Loewe Seoul is A Time Of Sincerity by Korean artist and Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2022 winner Dahye Jeong.
