I am delighted to receive many positive response from readers on my story entitled “Dr. Pauline Crawford the Lady President of International University of Entreprenology (IUE) succeeding Dr. James A. Omps” published by newswav.com on Friday, 21 August 2026. Some had enquired the difference between entrepreneurship and entreprenology. To answer it, permit me to share the feedback from Pak Zak (Zakaria Mohamad Noor), alumnus of Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Manila, who's a former senior manager of ExxonMobil who narrated “The linkage between entreprenelogy & entrepreneurship: One focuses on analysis (theory, science of business, teaching practice), the other on action (actual work of doing a business, real-world steps, risk & rewards.”
Spot on! I totally agree with Pak Zak that entrepreneurship is the practical process of building and running a business, while entreprenology is the formal study of that process, focusing on the mindset, intrinsic skills, value creation and science behind being an employer. Instead of merely using old textbooks, researchers now study how modern founders adapt to a fast-changing world. In the case of International University of Entreprenology (IUE) is moving fast toward “living dissertations” where students study their own real work-life experiences, and analyzing how they are able in managing to balance profit with their all the stakeholders (including employees), environmental and community wellbeing.
I learned from my mentor & the preceding IUE President, Dr. Jim A. Omps that “The programs we offer, have one thing in common - they were developed to meet the needs of current and/or future employers. To this end, the programmatic focus is on the needs of learner rather than those of the institution; the IUE has a clear focus on the major components of entrepreneurship & entreprenology, resulting to discover & develop an entreprenological mindset.”
I observed for more than half a century, the IUE has been continually creating, developing and updating programs, embracing the change that is occurring on a global basis. Common sense mandates we not only see what is coming, but that we take steps to mitigate the impact and adapt to the outcomes.
