Last Sunday, as the sun rising behind outline of Heritage Valley, I found myself lacing up my long-forgotten sneakers for a 5KM sunrise loop, dragged in (lovingly) by a friend from Brand New Waves Running Club (BNWRC) , a community of runners built since March 2019.
They promised an “easy run”. They also promised sandwiches, coffee, and a performance reveal I wouldn’t forget.
They weren’t wrong.
Setting the Pace Before the Spotlight
The 5K was chill—Big ups to the pacers, you could hear laughs between strides, soft encouragement from strangers, and a pace that felt more like an easy jog than a race. No pressure, no stopwatch, just breath, sweat, and KL's busy roads-turned-to-tracks for public leisure.
By the time we looped back to Heritage Valley, the energy shifted. Stage was set, Spotlights flickered on. Cameras was on standby into place. Something was about to drop.
And that something? Voltra: the Jet.

Former Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin—ever the showman—stepped onto the stage with a pristine and neat pair of Voltra's Jet in hand. He held them up like a prizefighter’s trophy, declaring it not just a shoe, but a statement.

The event was more than a product launch. It was a love letter to Malaysia’s growing running community.
There were live demos, athlete testimonials, and a mood that made even casual runners like me feel part of something bigger. The kind of energy where people fist-bump strangers and trade Strava handles over cold brew and isotonic water.
Voltra isn’t just selling shoes. They’re rallying a tribe.
Final Stride
I left “The Reveal” with a grin, a story, and the quiet thrill of knowing I was there when something special was launched—not just a shoe, but a movement.
And who knows… maybe that Voltra's Jet might just be the spark I need to trade in my laziness for something more regular.
