I first chanced upon Leslie Sansone's highly popular Walk At Home Fitness Series on Youtube during the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic around Jan 2020, nearly three years ago. In my mid-thirties, I was morbidly obese at a hefty 80kg. Even worse, doctors at the Mahkota Medical Center in Malacca said that I was at a high risk of contracting diabetes and high blood pressure because of my weight. Worry sick of my health and desperate to turn things around for the better, I took charge of my life and lose weight by starting the Leslie Sansone fitness routine, pronto!
As promised, I immediately kick-started my weight loss journey with Leslie Sansone the morning after at 8 am, right after I woke up from bed and did all my morning routine. The magic about Leslie Sansone is that you do not need fancy schmancy or state-of-the-art gym equipment. For instance, an expensive treadmill or even an air walker. All you need are a pair of good steady walking shoes while dressed appropriately for the workout, best in light cotton gym clothing. After that, switch on your PC or laptop and connect to her official Youtube channel via high-speed wifi. There, choose from the various workouts available such as Walking For Diabetes, Walk For 3-miles, Walking For The Heart, and much more..etc. But to be personal, my favourite is the 3-and-a-half-mile walk with a twist and the one-hour-long 4-mile super walk.

Leslie Sansone's workouts are highly effective as she incorporates fun walks of life that are low impact but high intensive altogether. For starters, her walks don't hurt your knees and muscles compared to other strenuous exercises conducted at the gym. Second, everyone can do a Leslie. Regardless of diversity, age, status, gender..etc. In reality, even 20-somethings to those who are in their 80s can complete all her walks of life workouts effortlessly and with no pain! Leslie's walking workouts are enormously popular not just in America, but also in many parts of the world, especially for those who enjoy fitness via Youtube.
Other than that, Leslie is highly motivational and inspiring as well. During her many recorded sessions, the fitness guru herself would say inspirational quotes such as Walking Is Men's Best Medicine, Born To Be Powerful, What Are your Goals, and how to use her workouts as a means to get away from the harsh realities and stresses of modern life. No doubt, my favourite Leslie mantra is 'Born To Be Powerful' as I am the captain of my destiny on this weight loss journey. And you know what? The best part about working out with Leslie is that I would sweat buckets and be soaking wet from head to toe at the end of the session. However, I always go the extra further mile by doing double times the workout within a single go. For example, a 3-mile with half a twisted walk, besides another 30 minutes booster walk for maximum results. To date, I have lost a total of 15kgs so far. But that includes a strict diet and nutrition, like implementing a ketogenic food/drink intake as an addition.
Leslie's walking workouts are the holy grail ala the bee's knees, as they are suitable for people with all sorts of co-morbidities. From diabetes and hypertension to high cholesterol. Or even those with rare neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Studies have also shown that walking exercises are highly beneficial for mental health individuals, particularly in mood disorders like bipolar disorder, depression, and Covid-19 anxiety. With consistent and long-term exercise, they help a great deal in balancing the highs and lows of mood disorders. Thus, they can be regulated tightly and the chemical imbalance in the brain will be kept under check. Without a doubt again, walking exercises are excellent for practically almost everything.
According to health minister Khairy Jamaluddin last year in 2021, Malaysia is considered an unhealthy country as the number of people suffering from heart-related diseases and obesity is high. Basically, many Malaysians lack health awareness and do not know how to take good care of their health. Statistics have also shown that Malaysia is also "numero uno" in terms of obesity and heart diseases. Therefore, they are the primary contributor to Covid-19 deaths or complications.
So, let's get fit and bring on those solid pairs of walking shoes right now. To quote Leslie Sansone, Everything Can Wait, But Your Health Can't Wait!
