upcoming K-dramas august 2026, new k-drama releasing august 2026

After an eventful July filled with fantasy romances, action thrillers and supernatural mysteries, August 2026 keeps the momentum going with another exciting new slate of K-drama shows. This month’s lineup spans office romances, crime dramas, revenge stories, military comedies and coming-of-age musical romances, offering something for every kind of viewer. Curious to know more about the titles? Here we bring you a list of all the upcoming K-dramas releasing in August 2026.

Leading the month’s releases is My Bias, My Boss, an office romance series adapted from writer Seong Eun’s webtoon My Oppa is an Idol. The series follows a new employee who becomes an employee of her favourite idol after trying to meet them. Talking about his character in the show, lead actor Kang Hoon said in a press conference (via Chosun), “I researched how the CEO of a fashion platform works and studied his style to align with the character. I also studied how he interacts with employees. I considered how he approaches people and the reasons behind his tendency to distance himself. My perfectionist personality resembles his. I’m a J type, the planning-oriented kind,” drawing laughter from the audience.

Other upcoming new K-dramas set to premiere in August 2026 include Our Sticky Love and New Recruit season 4. Not to forget one of the most anticipated new Netflix K-drama titles arriving this month, Four Hands, Two Sonatas. Directed by Park Hyun-seok, the coming-of-age musical romance stars Song Kang, Lee Jun-young and Jang Gyu-ri, and is set to premiere on 29 August 2026.

Song Kang and Lee Jun-young portray beautifully contrasting yet parallel characters. Song Kang (Sweet Home, Love Alarm) stars as Kang Bi-o, an elite piano prodigy who has spent his life on a steady path to perfection. Driven by an unwavering obsession with music, Bi-o appears flawless and self-assured on the surface, yet beneath his exceptional talent lies a hidden world of anxiety and pressure. Opposite him, Lee Jun-young (Weak Hero Class 2, When Life Gives You Tangerines) plays Choi Jeong-yo, a late-blooming pianist who pursues his dream despite a difficult and turbulent childhood. Free-spirited, raw and unfiltered, Jeong-yo possesses a natural warmth that brings out a strikingly different kind of musical brilliance.
