A man is suspected of fatally stabbing a woman and her father in a tragic incident at a residentail apartment in Ayer Itam.
The attack, which allegedly stemmed from a dispute due to the woman rejecting his advances, occurred in front of the apartment lift on the ground floor at Lengkok Angsana at around 1:15pm today.
The female victim, believed to be in her 30s, had just arrived home from work when the attack unfolded.
Her 62-year-old father, who was at the scene, was also fatally stabbed. Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Following the assault, the 32-year-old suspect reportedly inflicted injuries on himself and was subsequently taken to Penang Hospital for medical treatment.
Chief of Police Penang, Datuk Hamzah Ahmad is reported to be releasing a statement regarding the incident shortly.
