SEMPORNA: The General Operations Force (GOF) Battalion 22 Kunak detained a local man and seized about 250 litres of petrol, 200 litres of petrol mixed with 2T oil and four LPG gas cylinders during an operation off Pulau Boheyan, here, on Saturday.
The suspect was detained during the Ops Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) after he failed to produce any written permission to own or store the controlled item.
Also seized was a wooden boat and two units of engine, estimated worth RM13,079.60 including the controlled items.
The suspect and the seized items were handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Semporna for further action.
KPDN had opened an investigation paper under Section 21 of the Control of Supply Act 1961.
The ministry reminds any individual or company to always comply with the rules and the ministry will take stern action against any party found violating the law.
