Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil confirms weekly fuel price announcements remain on Wednesdays, warns against false information and misuse of official logos.
PETALING JAYA: Weekly fuel price updates for RON95, RON97 and diesel will continue every Wednesday, and any information circulated outside this schedule should be treated as false, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
He urged the public to disregard any information circulated outside this schedule unless confirmed by the Finance Ministry (MOF).
“The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has detected 96 pieces of false content spread across social media platforms, including Facebook, Threads, TikTok and X, over the past three days.”
He said some of the content involved the misuse of official news logos, adding that three individuals have been called in to give statements and are being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
