
SIPITANG: A fuel tanker veered off the road and overturned after its driver reportedly dozed off along the Sipitang-Sindumin road, here, Thursday.
The driver was not injured and no oil spill occurred during the incident.
AdvertisementSipitang District Police Chief Supt Awang Anak Suanda said police received a call regarding the incident at 2.30 pm.
He said investigations at the scene revealed that the fuel tanker was travelling from Sipitang towards Sindumin.

“However, as the driver approached the scene, he fell asleep, causing the lorry to mount the Mile 1 roundabout and subsequently lose control, leading to it overturning onto the left shoulder of the road towards Sindumin,” he said.

Police appealed to members of the public who have any information regarding the incident to come forward to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at the Sipitang District Police Headquarters to assist with the investigation.
