Italian police arrest Camorra boss Roberto Mazzarella, wanted for murder, at a luxury villa on the Amalfi Coast where he was staying with his family.
VIETRI SUL MARE: A fugitive mafia boss wanted for murder has been captured on Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
Roberto Mazzarella, the 48-year-old head of the Mazzarella clan within the Naples-based Camorra, was arrested in the town of Vietri sul Mare.
Police stated he “had been staying in a luxury villa on the Amalfi Coast and did not resist arrest.”
He was apprehended while with his wife and two children.
Mazzarella had been a fugitive since January 28, 2025, when he was due to be detained on murder charges.
His clan is notorious for its deep involvement in counterfeiting operations in Naples.
The city has a long-standing association with banknote forgery.
The arrest follows a police operation last month that detained 16 people allegedly linked to the Mazzarella clan on charges of cyber fraud.
