EASTERN MINDANAO COMMAND, Davao City — National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag said on Friday that Sen. Ronald dela Rosa was still in the Philippines and NBI operatives were hot on his tracks, planning his arrest once his location was verified.
“We have a team who’s tracking him under surveillance and we have identified some areas that we are monitoring. I hope sooner than later we can make our operations once they are sure of the location,” he said.
“It’s in the Philippines,” the only clue Matibag said of dela Rosa’s location.
Dela Rosa has been in hiding since the Senate shooting last May. He has been ordered arrested by the International Criminal Court over his alleged involvement in the Duterte administration's drug war.
His camp has maintained that they will only be facing charges filed before a Philippine court.
