Not one to brave the Kuala Lumpur traffic for a taste of fried rice from Fuiyoh! Its Uncle Roger? Well fret not, as apparently founder Nigel Ng is prepared to take his brand across the nation and perhaps, even beyond.

Making a splashy debut with a highly coveted lot in one of Kuala Lumpur’s prime luxury retail destinations earlier last month, Ng’s inaugural restaurant has already made headlines for its snaking queues that have diners waiting upwards of two hours for food that has been considered divisive.

Nigel Ng’s Fuiyoh! Its Uncle Roger restaurants may open 20 new outlets by 2025

Yet between fending off trolls and setting a Guinness World Record, it appears that nothing is about to break the KL-born standup comic’s entrepreneurial stride.

Citing industry sources with knowledge of his company’s expansion strategy, The Rakyat Post reports that fans and curious gourmands alike will likely no longer need to make the arduous trip into the city’s gridlocked downtown district for his plates of fried rice, as Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger is expected to turn into a nationwide enterprise with anywhere between 15 and 20 new outlets in the pipeline by 2025.

At this juncture, three new locations have already been sighted, namely Cheras’ MyTown Shopping Centre, IPC Mall in Damansara, and Central i-City in Shah Alam. Outside of the Klang Valley, Ng is aiming for a presence in Johor Bahru as well. Most interestingly, Ng’s chain of Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger restaurants may potentially even encroach into neighbouring markets across the region, with a Singaporean launch highly likely in the works.

Of course, none of this has been overtly confirmed by brand representatives, so it’s probably best to take this news with a grain of MSG.

Most recently, Fuiyoh! Its Uncle Roger gained another wave of viral attention online when popular YouTube content creator IShowSpeed dropped by to sample the food in person, causing pandemonium to erupt outside the restaurant premises.
