Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan (Warisan) wants Transport Minister Anthony Loke to fulfil Pakatan Harapan’s electoral promise to reduce Peninsula-Sabah airfares to RM199.

Lawyer Chin Tek Ming of Warisan highlighted that during the last 15th General Election (GE15), Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick had pledged that if elected, the one-way airfare from Peninsula to Sabah and Sarawak would be set at RM199.

However, Chin said Anthony’s recent announcement that one-way economy class airfares from the Peninsula to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan would be capped at RM599 during the festivities was far from what has been promised.

“Loke’s announcement now differs significantly from the election manifesto, clearly not taking the commitment to the people seriously,” said Chin in a statement, Thursday.
