  • Value City Furniture, operating as Value City Furniture and American Signature Furniture, has permanently closed all 126 stores across the nation after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November.
  • Roughly 10,000 customers are still awaiting furniture orders for which they put down a deposit, a decrease from the initially reported 36,000 unfulfilled orders.
  • Since the bankruptcy filing, $55 million worth of ordered furniture has been delivered, leaving less than $12 million in claims believed to be undelivered.
  • Customers with unfulfilled orders have until April 30 to submit their claims through the bankruptcy case’s website.
  • The business was acquired by ASI Purchaser LLC, a company fully or majority owned by members of the founding Schottenstein family, in a deal approved by a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge despite objections from creditors.
