Fury in Nepal amid delays in search for missing workers after catastrophic floods

• Catastrophic flash floods caused by a glacier collapse on 26 August have killed at least 1,399 people and left more than 5,400 missing across Nepal and Tibet.
• Army-led rescue teams are focussing search efforts on three hydropower project tunnels, where around 121 workers are believed to be trapped underground.
• Relatives of missing workers protested in Kathmandu over alleged delays and a lack of heavy machinery deployed to the Trishuli hydropower project sites.
• Prime Minister Balendra Shah pledged that rescue operations will continue without let-up, as search teams recently freed three hydropower workers and a woman from buried structures.
• Nepal held a national day of mourning on Monday for the victims as the government estimated the disaster has caused $2.56bn in damages.
