His Excellency Nos Sles, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports wanted to motivate all Cambodian Muslim students and teachers in developing their capacity to better meet the needs of the growing digital education system. He said, “A report last year counted 3,918 Cambodian Muslim teachers in both the public and private sectors. There were 1,263 professional teachers, 944 males and 319 teachers in public schools, plus 86 volunteer teachers in the mosques and 953 teachers in the communities.”
Nos Sles who's the Chairman of Cambodian Muslim Teacher Association (CAMTA), added “The tolerance attitude of the Cambodian Government under the dynamic leadership of His Excellency Prime Minister Hun Menet, has better developed education system and made Muslim community more capable than ever before, especially with the systematic construction of new schools. The Highest Council for Islamic Religion Affairs Cambodia (HICIRAC) has appointed directors to facilitate in problems solving.” (www,moeys.gov.kh)

CAMTA is responsible in teaching and learning by monitoring and evaluating the process at 11 provinces to regularly assess the progress of the Islamic education reforms through data collection and management, analysing outcomes, and make necessary improvement based on the feedback received. Whereas, Muslim teacher coordination teams organised training courses on Internal regulations of teachers and students from pre-school to college levels, monitoring the duties of the principals, and ensuring cleanliness environment.
For future plans and commitments, CAMTA wished to encourage involvement of the large Cambodia society working together with Cambodian Muslim Teacher and Muslim Youth in implementing community development and service programs. This will result in strengthening inter-community development and empowering service programs for excellence.
I have learned from meeting with Nos Sles recently that CAMTA would put in more effort in striving to achieve greater financial sustainability through more systematic and well coordinated fund raising and prudent financial management. Thus, the Cambodian Secretary of State (equivalent to a Deputy Minister in Malaysia), would continue to actively reach out the relevant institutions, universities, mosques, youth organisations, educators and philanthropists.
