A new video promoting the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit has just been released.

This year, the intergovernmental forum, established to promote free trade, investment, and economic growth in the region, will be held in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. As one of South Korea’s biggest exports is its K-pop entertainment, this promotional video highlights some of the country’s prominent figures.

With the leading role given to Big Bang frontman G-Dragon (acting as the aircraft’s captain), other Korean icons appear as he enters the gate. From Park Ji-sun, Peggy Gou, Park Chan-wook, IVE’s Jang Won-young, chef Ahn Sung-jai, and even President Lee Jae-myung, stars pop in frame just as GD makes it to the plane’s cockpit.

Directed by Shin Wooseok (New Jeans), the video ends with shots of planes bearing the various flags of the 21 countries that will be in attendance, with the tagline, “The world comes to Korea.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the promotion video, with, “This scene metaphorically expresses South Korea’s overcoming of chaos and orderly return to the international community.”

The 2025 APEC Summit, hosted by South Korea, will be held in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, from October 31 to November 1.
