Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian People’s Power Movement (G57) called for increased protection for the country’s leaders, including in Sabah, following the Ulu Tiram tragedy in Johor.
Its Chairman Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar praised police for boosting security for the country’s top leaders, especially the Prime Minister and King.
Two policemen at the Ulu Tiram Police Station were killed by suspected terrorists on Friday.
“The assassination attempt of Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico on Thursday also clearly shows that security for leaders cannot be taken lightly by national security personnel.

Zulkarnain noted that the country was once tested with the Al Maunah case in Bukit Jenalik, Perak, on July 2, 2000 and the Sulu terrorist invasion at Felda Sahabat Lahad Datu in February 2013.
