GAC M8 PHEV MPV Launched In Malaysia From RM328,800

The GAC M8 PHEV MPV becomes the first plug-in hybrid MPV to be launched in Malaysia by a Chinese brand.

WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA) has officially launched the GAC M8 PHEV, a premium MPV that combines refined craftsmanship, intelligent hybrid technology, and a wealth of first-class features for the Malaysian market, with prices starting at RM328,800.

The GAC M8 PHEV is now available for sale, offered in two variants: the Premium at RM328,800 and the Luxury at RM388,800 (on-the-road price for Peninsular Malaysia, excluding insurance). WTC Automotif, the sole distributor of GAC in Malaysia, is positioning the M8 as a true “Luxurious MPV Masterpiece”.

To mark its market introduction, customers who place bookings before December 31, 2025, will receive two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance and a portable charging cable, offering a combined value of RM3,800.

Intelligent Hybrid Performance and Long Range

At the core of the M8 PHEV is an advanced powertrain delivering a seamless balance of power and efficiency.

• Powertrain: A 2.0-litre turbocharged engine is paired with an electric motor via a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).
• Output: The system generates a combined maximum output of 372 PS and 630 Nm of torque.
• Range & Battery: Powered by a 25.57 kWh battery and a 56-litre fuel capacity, the M8 PHEV boasts an impressive total driving range of up to 1,038 km on a full charge and a full tank.
• Dynamics: Driving comfort is enhanced by an Adaptive Vehicle Dynamics Control System and an Electromagnetic Damping Suspension, ensuring stability across different road conditions.

The hybrid powertrain offers three intelligent driving modes—Intelligent Hybrid, All-Electricity First, and Power Preservation—to cater to modern drivers’ versatile needs.

First-Class Luxury and Safety

The M8 PHEV redefines first-class travel with meticulous attention to detail inside and out. The exterior features a bold, “Lion-like” front face, signature “Awakening Eye” LED headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels with signature self-levelling wheel caps.

Inside, the cabin offers refined elegance with semi-aniline leather upholstery and an ultra-quiet interior, achieved through 108 sound insulation points and an Engine Noise Control (ENC) system. Furthermore, the MPV boasts best-in-class legroom, facilitated by extended 480 mm second- and third-row sliding rails.

In a world-first safety feature, the M8 PHEV includes GAC’s patented rear windscreen airbag as part of a 360-degree comprehensive airbag system. This is complemented by a suite of advanced technologies, including Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA).

Owners receive a 5-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 150,000 km battery warranty. The M8 PHEV is now available at GAC showrooms nationwide, with test drives offered by appointment. WTCA is reaffirming its commitment to expanding its service presence with 22 showrooms and 45 service centres nationwide.
