Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari held a high-level meeting in the national capital and reviewed the quality and maintenance progress of 793 km of National Highway stretches covering 41 projects in Tripura. The review was undertaken following inputs received through media reports and social media feedback, officials from the ministry said. During the meeting, Gadkari stressed the need to expedite project execution while ensuring strict adherence to quality standards. He also emphasised the adoption of advanced construction technologies to build durable and high-performance highway infrastructure. The minister further directed officials to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and ensure comprehensive monsoon preparedness measures, including efficient drainage systems, slope stabilisation, and rapid response arrangements to maintain road safety and uninterrupted connectivity across the state. Yesterday, Gadkari also reviewed the quality and maintenance progress of 4,178 km of National Highway projects in Assam.
