KOTA KINABALU: Gagasan Rakyat will restructure its divisions from 74 state assembly based units into 26 parliamentary divisions, including Labuan, to strengthen organisation and efficiency.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the previous structure looked large on paper but was uneven in strength, with some divisions underperforming.
The new setup aims to consolidate resources, improve coordination and ensure the party moves as one.
He acknowledged the changes would affect roles and positions but stressed the restructuring is about strengthening the party, not sidelining members.
Grassroots contributions remain valued, with roles continuing under a more organised system to support stability and leadership in the state government.
