Kota Kinabalu: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) said its election machinery is now in full gear and ready to face the imminent 17th State Election (PRN17), with dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly expected at any time.
Gagasan Rakyat Sec-Gen Datuk Mohd Razali Razi said the party’s election machinery is well-prepared from the polling district committees up to the divisional level, reflecting months of strategic planning and ground engagement.
“Our machinery is ready and disciplined. We are confident that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah – Pakatan Harapan (GRS-PH) coalition will perform strongly and secure victory in the upcoming polls.
“The grassroots sentiment and pre-election surveys by reputable research institutions such as lham Center and the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) as indicators show that voter confidence remains high in the GRS-PH government.
“The findings show that the people appreciate the government’s performance and stability under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor,” he said.
Razali who is also Gagasan Rakyat Darau Divisional Chief said this during the Polling and Counting Agent (PACA) Training Course organized by his division, which was attended by party leaders, members, youth’s members, and polling centre coordinators, here, recently.
The aim of conducting the training, he said, was to strengthening grassroots readiness and ensuring every party representative is fully equipped for election daily operations.
Razali said the coalition’s strong performance over the past five years, coupled with positive public sentiment and a shared desire for continued development, gives them a clear edge.
He attributed the positive momentum to the strong five-year track record of the GRS-PH government, which has delivered tangible progress in infrastructure development, investment growth, and people-centred policies.
“The people can see the results. Roads are being improved, investors are coming in, and job opportunities are being created, among others. These are what the rakyat wants — progress and stability,” he said.
Razali also warned that the opposition’s tactic of spreading slander, manipulating racial and religious sentiments, and circulating false information for political gain.
“Such irresponsible actions not only tarnish Sabah’s image in the eyes of investors but also risk dividing our people, who have long lived together in harmony that have long been the pride of the state.
“Those who continue to sow hatred and spread lies will be judged by the people at the ballot box as the people of Sabah are wise and mature. They will not be easily influenced by divisive politics.
“Sabahans have always lived together peacefully despite our diversity. We must protect that harmony from being destroyed by those who put politics above the people’s welfare,” he said.
Razali also called on all Gagasan Rakyat members and supporters to stay united, disciplined, and focused in the final stretch before the election.
“Victory is within reach if we continue to work hard and stay close to the people. Together, we can ensure that GRS-PH continues to lead Sabah towards greater stability and prosperity,” he said.
