Cody Gakpo was delighted to be part of Liverpool's 6-1 thrashing of Leeds.
Gakpo struck on Monday night.
He told Liverpoolfc.com post-match: "Everybody knows we struggled a little bit this season in the away games and then if you play a game like this tonight, this is the way it should feel every game. But it's a good step in the right direction.
"Especially in away games, the first goal is really important to get your spirit even higher and maybe [get] the crowd of the opponent a little bit down. We did it well and after we scored another one, a beautiful goal from Mo [Salah]. In the second half, we just went for it and it worked out well.
"We won this game, it was a good game, but now we have to look forward and we have to win the next game."
