Gal Gadot says goodbye to Wonder Woman, offers advice to whoever takes over

It seems that Gal Gadot’s tenure as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman has come to an end.

According to ScreenRant, Gadot has not had “any specific conversations” with DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn regarding a possible return as Wonder Woman or playing a different role in the rebooted DCU, similar to her “Justice League” co-star Jason Momoa, who transitioned from Aquaman to Lobo.

The last time Gadot spoke with the studio was during discussions for a third “Wonder Woman” movie, which now appears to have stalled.

Sadly, it seems Gadot will not return as Wonder Woman, but she offered a touching message to whoever takes over the iconic role in the DCU.

“This is such an incredible character that so many of us care about so much, so whoever it’s going to be to portray her, I wish for her that she enjoys this amazing ride with this amazing character. And I’m just grateful that I was granted the opportunity to wear her boots and celebrate this incredible character and everything she stands for,” Gadot said.

Gadot made her debut as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” in 2016. She went on to star in two “Wonder Woman” films, as well as “Justice League” and its director’s cut, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League.”

She also made cameo appearances in “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” and “The Flash.”
