Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur admits they tried to sign Lazio midfielder Matias Vecino.
Timur revealed an angry Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri blocked the move.
He said, "Vecino? We've been following him for two years, there was an agreement with him and with Lazio. At 11.30 pm Sarri did not approve the transfer, he was also angry....".
On Nicolo Zaniolo going to Aston Villa, Timur added: "He wanted to go to the Premier League, it was a record sale.
"With the bonuses we'll reach 40 million (euros), we bought him for 15."
