Former Arsenal captain William Gallas insists the current team remains a work in progress.
Gallas feels they need to buy again in January.
He told Gamblingzone: "At the moment you have to say Declan Rice is a better signing than Moises Caicedo. From the very first game it looked like he had been playing for Arsenal for a year. You can see his commitment for Arsenal, he speaks to the players, he knows where to go, when to get the ball and he can do the box-to-box.
"For me he just needs to score more goals and then we will speak about him at the highest level. But Rice, in future, will be one of the best midfielders in the world.
"Arsenal still need to get one good right-back, it's simple. I would keep my eye on that position because that's where they need to find that player who is a normal right-back rather than a centre-back who plays there.
"With the football now, you need that player who can go box-to-box, defend very well whilst having the quality to attack, to make good crosses and make the difference. At the moment Arsenal don't have that player. They need a good right-back, definitely.
"There are good players out there who can play that position and that is something you should be thinking about before the season starts. Ben White can do the job, but when you play against the biggest clubs you need a right-back in the same style as Kyle Walker, someone like him. If they could get that type of player in it would be great."
