Former Arsenal captain William Gallas says Martin Odegaard is a good choice as skipper - but also wants more from the midfielder.
Odegaard is now in his second season as Gunners skipper.
Gallas told GamblingZone: "I thought that was a good decision. That was the decision of a gentleman. Martin Odegaard is a gentleman.
"That shows you how concerned Odegaard is about his team mates and the relationship that he has with them."
On Sunday's clash with Manchester City, Gallas added: "We all know how talented he is, but these are the games where you're looking for your big players to step up and make the difference.
"These are the type of games where the top, top players show everyone that they are the best."
