Garmin Malaysia has just launched its latest Forerunner 70 and Forerunner 170 GPS running smartwatches, featuring user-friendly designs and a range of training features to support both new and experienced runners.
To begin with, the new Forerunner 70 and Forerunner 170 are equipped with vibrant 1.2-inch AMOLED displays, responsive touchscreens, and a traditional 5-button layout for easier navigation and control.
Designed for runners of all levels, the new Garmin Forerunner 70 comes equipped with essential training features such as built-in GPS, pace and distance tracking, alongside wrist-based heart rate monitoring. It also introduces quick workout suggestions tailored to a user’s fitness level, requiring only basic inputs such as workout duration and intensity.
For more structured training, the smartwatch supports Garmin Coach adaptive training plans, including run/walk programs and lower-volume plans designed around health and recovery data.
In addition, the Forerunner 70 includes advanced training tools such as training readiness, training status, wrist-based running power and running dynamics, powered by Garmin Human Performance Lab.
It also supports over 80 sports apps including swimming, cycling and strength training, while wellness features include sleep tracking, HRV status, Pulse Ox and overall health monitoring. Additional features include smart notifications, safety tracking and LiveTrack support.
The smartwatch offers up to 13 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and is available in several color options including citron, soft pink, tidal blue, cool lavender, black and whitestone.
Building on the Forerunner 70, the Forerunner 170 adds features such as Garmin Pay for contactless payments, while the Forerunner 170 Music supports phone-free music playback through downloadable songs and podcasts from supported streaming services.
Both models offer up to 10 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and are available in black/yellow and whitestone/cloud blue color options. Notably, the Forerunner 170 Music comes in additional teal green/citron and red pink/mango variants.
