Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho was eager to see the club sign a new centre-forward this summer.
Before the arrival of Rasmus Hojlund, Garnacho had discussed the need for a new striker signing with teammates.
The Athletic says during downtime at United's hotel base in San Diego in pre-season, Garnacho told United pals that he wanted to see a striker who would attack crosses in the box signed.
Weeks later, United were announcing the arrival of Hojlund from Atalanta.
The Dane scored his first goal for the club in last week's defeat at Champions League opponents Bayern Munich.
