Garth Brooks cancels concert after fans are blocked from buying tickets

  • Country music singer Garth Brooks has been forced to cancel a newly added matinee concert in Kansas City after automated ticket bots crashed the ticketing system during the general sale.
  • The 7 November matinee show at the T-Mobile Center was added due to high demand, but a queue of over 90,000 parties, mostly consisting of bots, blocked genuine fans from acquiring tickets, leading AXS and the venue to shut down the sale.
  • Brooks apologised to fans on social media, stating that the bot situation is out of hand, and confirmed that anyone who successfully purchased tickets for the third show will automatically receive a full refund.
  • Despite the matinee cancellation, the 64-year-old singer remains scheduled to perform his two original evening concerts in Kansas City on 6 and 7 November as part of his Blame It All On My Roots Tour.
  • In contrast to the Kansas City disruption, ticket sales for Brooks's upcoming concerts in Seattle proceeded smoothly on the same day, selling out three dates and prompting the addition of an extra opening night performance.
