Gary Glitter to face trial on charges of child sexual abuse

  • Former pop star Gary Glitter has pleaded not guilty to eight allegations of sexual abuse against a girl aged between eight and 11.
  • The 82-year-old, whose real name is Paul Gadd, entered his pleas via videolink from HMP Channing Wood at Southwark Crown Court.
  • The charges include four counts of indecent assault, two of indecency with a child, and two of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13, allegedly committed between 1978 and 1981.
  • Judge Tony Baumgartner adjourned the case for a three-week trial, scheduled to begin on 22 November 2027.
  • The Metropolitan Police said that the allegations were first reported to the force in January 2025.
