Gary Lineker paid an emotional tribute to Sven-Goran Eriksson on Match of the Day, describing the former England manager as a “true gentleman until the end”.
Eriksson’s death, at the age of 76, was confirmed by his family on Monday 26 August.
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year after suffering a stroke while out running near his home in Sweden.
A video packed aired at the beginning of Match of the Day on Saturday night, before Lineker paid his tribute.
“Everyone at Match of the Day sends their condolences to Sven’s friends and family, a lovely man, and he will be missed,” he said.
