Gas Pipeline Fire: Tan Sri Vincent Tan to Donate RM3,000 to Each Affected Family, Says Anthony Loke

The Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke, visited the gas pipeline fire victims today (April 3) at the Putra Heights Mosque and had some good news to share.

According to him, Tan Sri Vincent Tan will be donating RM3,000 to each family affected by the tragedy to ease their burdens.

The founder of the Berjaya Corporation Bhd (BCORP) contacted Anthony Loke and expressed his interest in giving some cash aid to the affected families. Anthony also said that the ministry is still actively seeking help from private companies.

“These are among the contributions that are currently being worked on, and of course, we will continue to contact private companies to help, whether in the form of cash, essential goods, or transportation.”

Another automotive company to provide temporary vehicles

Yesterday, automotive company Cherry Malaysia announced that they would be lending 50 cars to the affected households, and today, Anthony revealed that another automotive company will be doing the same. Carro, through the Selangor Exco office, also agreed to provide 30 vehicles for temporary use by the victims involved.

Prasarana Malaysia Bhd has also provided six vans to assist with the transportation needs of victims at the PPS to move around, which was shared via a Facebook post by the Selangor Exco & the Chairman of DAP Selangor.

“With continued support from the private sector and relevant parties, we hope all fire victims can be assisted more efficiently so that they can go home,” Anthony said, reported Sinar Harian.
