GB News receives record 9,000 Ofcom complaints over Pride segment

  • A recent GB News programme, Alex Armstrong Tonight, has become the broadcast to receive the most direct complaints to Ofcom ever.
  • During the 5 July episode, guest Caroline Farrow appeared to link the LGBTQ+ community to paedophilia while discussing Pride events.
  • Her comments, made during a debate on whether Pride marches are suitable for children, drew widespread outrage from public figures, including RuPaul’s Drag Race UK alum Bimini.
  • Broadcast regulator Ofcom received over 9,000 direct complaints regarding the programme between 7 and 13 July.
  • Armstrong later addressed the controversy, saying that he fundamentally rejected the guest's comments and that they did not reflect his or the channel's views.
