BELURAN – Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for Beluran Felix Joseph Saang has lambasted Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for accusing the coalition of being involved in a “Christianisation” plan of Malaysia.

Felix, who is the PH Youth deputy chief, described the allegation as a “disgraceful last-ditch effort” by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman to confuse voters.

“A man of his calibre should have been wise enough to not use religion as a political tactic. This is a cheap move.

“It’s truly saddening to hear a former prime minister utter those hurtful words,” he said in a statement here today.

The Upko Youth chief urged Muhyiddin to retract the statement and apologise to the Christians in Malaysia:

“Just a few days ago a PN-PAS youth leader had claimed that those who vote for PH would go to hell.

“Is this the kind of government that we want?” asked Felix.

He assured the public that PH is a multiracial coalition that respects all religions and races.

In a TikTok clip, Muhyiddin could be seen urging the public to not vote for PH. He claimed that the coalition is linked to a group of Jews and Christians who are planning for the “Christianisation” in Malaysia.

He said that it would be “very dangerous” for PH to return to power.

Muhyiddin’s statement has drawn flak from the public, including the Council of Churches of Malaysia (CCM). – The Vibes, November 18, 2022
