GE15: ‘don’t poke and prod, Ismail Sabri will be PM if BN wins’

SG UDANG – Barisan Nasional (BN) is committed to “poster boy” and Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the prime minister should the coalition win the 15th general election (GE15).

Coalition chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the grassroots were told to not fall for the propaganda claiming that BN would not follow through with its PM candidate.

He added that there should be no doubt about the decision of BN’s top leaders, who have unanimously agreed to retain Ismail Sabri as prime minister.

“Umno and BN have made the decision. We are committed to making Ismail Sabri our prime minister (candidate), as he is doing his job well in Putrajaya right now.

“Don’t speculate or predict, don’t poke and prod us. We don’t have any problems at all. The election machinery should focus on delivering victories to all BN candidates,” he said when addressing the party machinery at the Bukit Terendak district voting centre here today.

Zahid said Umno and BN members need to be united as the majority of the people want the coalition to return to power in Putrajaya.

He added that it would be a loss if Malaysians choose Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional because BN has a good track record from its 62 years in power.

“The people suffered after the 2018 general election when PH won, not to mention when the country was ruled by a failed government for 17 months (after the collapse of PH). No other country in the world declared a state of emergency due to Covid-19.

“It only happened in Malaysia. Someone was daydreaming about holding on as prime minister.” – The Vibes, November 10, 2022
