
KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 578 early voting centres, involving 970 channels, opened at 8am today for the 15th general election (GE15) and Bugaya by-election in Sabah.
According to the latest electoral roll, 117,473 members of the armed forces and their spouses, as well as 107,355 police personnel and their spouses are eligible for early voting.
The voting centres, to be opened at state and district police headquarters and army camps, will close in stages, from noon until 5pm.
The electoral roll being used for GE15 has 21.2 million electors, with 20.91 million of them ordinary voters.
GE15 will see candidates vie for 222 parliamentary seats and 117 state seats in Pahang, Perlis, and Perak, as well as for the Bugaya state seat in Sabah.
The Election Commission has set November 19 as polling day for GE15. – Bernama, November 15, 2022
