IPOH – Weathering drizzling rain and muddy fields, over 10,000 people have turned up to hear Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s final address ahead of the polling day tomorrow.

A sea of red engulfed a large field right next to the Meow Garden restaurant tonight, with Malaysians from all walks of life intently listening to what the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman had to say in the final hours of campaigning for the 15th general election (GE15).

Despite suffering from a slight sore throat – a by-product of intense ceramah and community events – Anwar did not relent in his message that PH must be given the mandate to lead the country and subsequently save it from further “corruption” and incompetent leaders.

Anwar then stressed that the nation's future now lies on its youth, who are sick and tired of its socio-economic doldrums.

“The youth have to break the mould regurgitated by the old men in politics that the youth despise politics.

“The youth have to liberate their hearts and not to be swayed by corrupt leaders.

“You cannot count on all these old men in politics to drive for change, as they have too much vested interest.

“The youth now are sick and tired of the disrespectful behaviour of these leaders who have plundered the nation’s wealth.

“So do not let the future of the country be dictated by corrupt leaders,” he said to a thunderous applause from the crowd.

Anwar then explained that PH is the only coalition that has campaigned on issues rather than personal attacks or personalities.

“These politicians in Umno, Bersatu and PAS do not possess any solid ideas or solutions, so they opted to attack me instead.

“That’s all they can do,” he said.

Anwar explained that all “oppressors” often implement fear mongering tactics to smear their opponents, pointing to these parties often harping on the DAP as the boogeyman.

An emphatic and fiery Anwar compels his audience to come en masse tomorrow and this opportunity to propel change for the country.

“I want to bring a new culture into politics where I, as a Malay leader, will respect, adore, cherish, and protect all other races as well.

“And in turn, people of all races will reciprocate the same value to me as their elected leader,” he said. – The Vibes, November 18, 2022
