GE15: Sivarasa campaigns for Ramanan

SG BULOH – Datuk R. Ramanan, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Sg Buloh parliamentary seat, received a double boost in the final days of campaigning with both his predecessor R. Sivarasa and PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim joining him at a ceramah yesterday afternoon.

“Our candidate will continue Sivarasa’s good work here,” Anwar told the 1,000-odd crowd in Taman Subang Perdana here.

“We must reject racial politics and make this a Malaysia for all,” he said, alluding to Sivarasa’s record as a human rights advocate.

Anwar, Sivarasa, and Ramanan also met voters at a restaurant as part of Anwar’s walkabout in Sg Buloh.

Ramanan is replacing the three-term MP who is stepping aside due to health reasons.

Sivarasa however had accompanied Ramanan to the nomination centre on November 5 to demonstrate there was no ill will and to assure that he would help PH’s candidate keep the seat he won in 2018.

Ramanan is in a six-cornered fight, which is becoming a two-horse race between him and Barisan Nasional’s Khairy Jamaluddin.

“I am grateful for YB Sivarasa’s support and guidance. I have big shoes to fill and will  uphold the trust placed in me,” Ramanan said. – The Vibes, November 17, 2022
