
Gee Bee Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences, in association with the 5 Rivers Heart Association, USA, organised a webinar on heart health awareness to educate students and healthcare professionals about the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases.
The webinar featured interventional cardiologist, advanced heart failure and transplant specialist, academic physician-scientist, and University of California faculty member, Dr Swaiman Singh, as the chief guest and keynote speaker. He delivered an informative session on heart failure, highlighting its causes, risk factors, early warning signs and preventive measures. He emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet and regular physical activity to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
He also shared practical insights on “How to Keep a Healthy and Wealthy Heart”, focusing on healthy eating habits, regular exercise, stress management and the importance of preventive healthcare practices. Dr Singh encouraged participants to adopt heart-healthy habits and undergo regular check-ups for early detection of cardiac conditions.
The webinar was attended by members of the institute’s management, faculty and staff, who appreciated the expert guidance and awareness provided during the session.
