Geely Auto Group has had the best year in its history and we’re not even done with 2026.

Geely Auto Group has delivered an exceptional financial performance for the first nine months of 2026, with core net profit attributable to shareholders surging 41 percent year on year to a record RMB 14.9 billion (approx. US$2.19 billion / RM9.6 billion).

The earnings leap significantly outpaced overall top-line revenue growth, which rose a modest 3 percent to RMB 272.6 billion (approx. US$40.1 billion). The widening gap between turnover and earnings underscores a decisive operational shift: Geely is extracting substantially higher profit margins on every vehicle it rolls off the line.

The group’s gross profit margin expanded to 18 percent, lifting core net profit margin to 5.5 percent. Consequently, core net profit per vehicle climbed 37 percent to RMB 6,664 (approx. US$980)—a notable accomplishment amid aggressive domestic price competition across China’s automotive landscape.

Record Third-Quarter Momentum

Financial velocity peaked in the third quarter (July to September), marking the strongest three-month financial window in the carmaker’s history:

  • Q3 Revenue: Reached RMB 98.96 billion (approx. US$14.6 billion), representing a 10 percent year-on-year increase.
  • Q3 Core Net Profit: Rose 32 percent to RMB 5.21 billion (approx. US$766 million).

Total group vehicle deliveries across the nine months crossed 2.235 million units. The core Geely brand formed the volume bedrock with 1,750,960 deliveries, of which electrified models accounted for nearly half at 877,184 units.

Zeekr and Lynk & Co Fuel the Value Shift

The group’s performance was bolstered by high-margin contributions from its premium and electrified sub-brands:

  • Zeekr Doubles Volume: Premium pure-electric brand Zeekr—which Geely agreed to consolidate fully in-house last year—emerged as the primary growth catalyst. The marque delivered 288,404 vehicles, effectively doubling both its sales volume and revenue year on year. Zeekr’s share of total group revenue surged from 17.7 percent to 31.3 percent.
  • Lynk & Co Electrification: Lynk & Co recorded 196,117 vehicle sales, with electrified models reaching a record portfolio penetration of over 70 percent. Crucially, the brand’s international deliveries outside China expanded by 151 percent.

Exports Spike 169%: One-Million Overseas Target in Sight

The standout driver behind Geely’s margin expansion was its rapid overseas footprint. Group exports surged 169 percent year on year to 797,670 units, with new energy vehicles (NEVs) representing 61 percent of that overseas total.

Demonstrating strong global demand, Geely maintained monthly international sales in excess of 100,000 units for four consecutive months between June and September. The group remains firmly on course to achieve its ambitious annual target of one million overseas vehicle sales in 2026.

The export momentum has been led by key models such as the Geely E2/EX2, the EX5 and EX5 EM-i, the Lynk & Co 08, and Zeekr’s lineup including the Zeekr X, Zeekr 009, and the Zeekr 7X mid-size electric SUV, which currently holds leading sales positions across multiple international territories.

Looking ahead, Geely is preparing to deploy its next international product wave, with overseas rollouts planned for the Geely Emgrand EM-i, the rugged Geely Zhanjian 700, and the Lynk & Co 07 GT.
