Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino was left "angry" after their 1-0 defeat to Monza.

Dany Mota struck the decisive goal on the day.

Gilardino said, "At this moment we pay dearly for the imperfections we allow within the game. I will have to watch the match again and clearly I want to review the action that led to Monza's goal.

"Talking about the match, it honestly makes it difficult for me to reproach the team for anything. The first half was balanced, in the second half we dominated: there is frustration. Unfortunately we always talk about the same things but we go home defeated. There's only work to be done.

"Fear among footballers? No, there is no fear among my players. And we demonstrated it with the attitude that was the right one.

"I'm angry, because the little mistakes we make we pay heavily for. In Serie A we cannot afford certain amnesias, we must always be clear-headed. Particularly in defence where there are many young players. There's a lot of work to do."
