After running a one-month trial earlier this year, Gentari has officially made its 15% off-peak EV charging discount a permanent feature at selected DC charging locations across Malaysia starting 1st August 2026 until further notice.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging EV owners to charge during quieter hours while helping them save on charging costs.
If you’re an existing Gentari membership subscriber, you can enjoy more savings as the discount is stackable.
15% cheaper charging from midnight to 6:59am
The off-peak discount is available daily from 12:00am to 6:59am at selected Gentari DC chargers.
For example, a Gentari DC charger that normally costs RM1.60/kWh will be reduced to RM1.36/kWh during the off-peak period, which is a 15% discount.
According to Gentari’s FAQ, the discounted rate is applied based on the session start time, allowing users to lock in the lower rate for the entire charging session.

The discount stacks with Gentari subscriptions
The biggest benefit is that the off-peak discount can be combined with Gentari’s charging subscription plans, allowing users to enjoy even greater savings.
Here’s how it works:
- Gentari Go Starter (RM350/year): 15% subscription discount + 15% off-peak discount
- Gentari Go Plus (RM699/year): 30% subscription discount + 15% off-peak discount
- Existing Gentari Power Pass subscribers: 50% subscription discount + 15% off-peak discount, for a total discount of 65% during off-peak charging.
Take note that idle fee (RM0.40 per minute) applies if you do not remove your vehicle 15 minutes after charging is completed. If you’re done charging, do remove your vehicle so that others can charge.
Remember, if you’re not charging, you’re hogging.
