German airlines are resuming regular scheduled flights to Israel following the easing of tensions in the Iran war.

Lufthansa has been flying twice daily from its hub in Frankfurt to Tel Aviv since Wednesday, a spokesman confirmed to dpa on Thursday. Condor is now also planning to reinstate its flight schedule.

During the war, it was primarily the Israeli airline El Al that kept connections running.

Lufthansa subsidiary Austrian Airlines resumed the route from Vienna in June and is now increasing the number of flights to 11 per week with immediate effect.

From mid-July, Eurowings also plans to resume flights to Israel, with up to three flights per week between Dusseldorf and Tel Aviv. From Hamburg, a weekly flight is scheduled from July 10.

The Lufthansa Group has announced further connections for August, including Lufthansa flights from Munich, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) flights from Zurich and Brussels Airlines flights from Brussels. Condor plans to launch its scheduled service from August 2.

The Lufthansa Group's flights to Dubai, as well as to many other destinations in the crisis-hit region, remain suspended for operational reasons through October 24.
