Germany on Saturday called on all parties to implement the ceasefire agreed as part of the framework deal between the United States and Iran.
Berlin is using its contacts, particularly with Israeli partners, to help ensure that the ceasefire agreement is put into practice, a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said.
However, Iran-backed Hezbollah must also stop its attacks on northern Israel in a "truly credible" manner, the spokesman added. "I don't think we're quite there yet."
The spokesman noted that Germany is not a party to the bilateral agreement recently struck between Washington and Tehran, which envisages a ceasefire on all fronts, including between Israel and Hezbollah.
"As such, it is not primarily up to us to implement this agreement or insist on its implementation," he said.
