Germany recorded a second consecutive day of all-time high temperatures on Saturday, with a preliminary reading of 41.5 degrees Celsius measured in the eastern community of Möckern-Drewitz, the German Weather Service said.
The previous national record had only been set a day earlier, when the DWD registered 41.3 degrees in the western city of Saarbrücken.
The figures remain preliminary and could still be revised by meteorologists.
Before Friday, Germany's official heat record stood at 41.2 degrees, measured on July 25, 2019.
