And TMW says Gerrard is ready to take charge of Al-Ettifaq.
While final contract terms are being settled, Gerrard is discussing transfer plans with his new board.
An offer has been tabled to Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane and Gerrard has also asked for Philippe Coutinho to brought to Saudi Arabia from Villa.
Gerrard and Coutinho are also former Liverpool teammates.
