Sacked Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard travelled back on the team bus following his dismissal last night.
Gerrard was sacked after their 3-0 defeat at Fulham - before the squad assembled to return to the West Midlands.
The Athletic says Gerrard was sacked following his post-match news conference and travelled back to the Midlands on the team bus.
He spoke to the players at the training ground once they returned.
Villa announced Gerrard's dismissal with a short 41-word statement.
